The second profile of the Czech Republic in the Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends in Europe is currently available for download in Czech and English versions. Its author is Pavla Petrová, the director of the Arts and Theatre Institute.
„The Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends in Europe is a regularly updated
online information and monitoring system which deals with cultural policies,
heir instruments, discussions and trends in Europe," Pavla Petrová describes the project.
The Compendium originated in 1998 as the initiative of the Council of Europe as a joint project with independent non-profit organization ERICarts (European Institute for Comparative Cultural Research) and is created on the basis of sharing knowledge and partnership of independent experts on cultural policy, non-governmental organizations and national governments. Profiles of 42 countries are currently included in the Compendium. First profiles of the following new states – Cyprus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Andorra and Byelorussia – should be completed this year.
